It's cupcake time!

What Valentine's Day would be complete without cupcakes? The quintessential make-a-bunch-to-give-out-to-all-your-valentines treat. This year I used the Williams Sonoma Red Velvet cupcake mix. Can't say they were exactly the same as their namesake, but pretty good for a mix.

(Still have to perfect the Sprinkles icing technique. And the steady camera hand technique.)

A special one for my sweetie

(flag from The Paper Princess)

For you, my friends, a different type of cupcake - the most Valentine-y of them all - Cherry Chip!

No Valentine's Day is complete without them, imho. Leave a comment to win the cupcake package shown here! Don't worry - they are good anytime of the year!

* The winner of the pasta package is Rebecca (Thrifty Goodness)! opehliaknits - I'm getting worried...!

It's been ages since I had red velvet cake. As a kid you could not convince me it was regular ol choco cake. It was red and therefore was in a cake category unto itself!

I'm making sugar cookies as I write this... obviously should have gone for cupcakes!

I tried that Red Velvet mix once. And my kitchen looked like a blood murder scene when I was finished. Cupcakes! Now I must go make some. You've inspired me.

How cute is that towel!! I love Valentines Day!! I made Valentine Stocking for my kids and had them all filled this morning.

IT was quite exciting here at the Wilson house!

Happy Valentines Day!

Never heard of this flavor. It must not be a northeast thing. Great last giveaway!

You're on to something. I've been to three stores looking for cherry icing to no avail! I'll be making cupcakes tonight, with or without my cherry icing :)

Thanks so much for mentioning the red velvet mix. I don't use mixes, but I thought it would be good for a gift basket, and the Duncan Hines one isn't available in California. Amazon used to carry it, but now only in a case of 12. So I'll have to go check out WS. I got some WS hot chocolate for xmas that's delicious.

Ooooh, these look delicious! And they remind me of all the awesome Valentine's Day parties in elementary school. No V-Day celebration was complete without cherry chip cupcakes! :) How sweet of you to share.

Woo hoo! I'm a WEINER! :) Seriously, I love that I won the one with the booze in it, LOL.

Your cupcakes are making me drool. I almost bought that mix and then picked up vanilla bread instead. Doh. I'll have to try the other recipe. Off to bake cupcakes!

hugs and THANKS

Cherry Chip is almost impossible to find in MD. I have never seen it. I used to buy it when we lived in OH.

I don't think I've ever seen that kind of cake mix but it sounds delish and, oh so, valentiney!

Found you through Rebecca. I'll be back for sure. I think I had been here before and never bookmarked you but I sure did this time! :)

Cheers! LA

It's not the cupcakes I want--it's that adorable little hand towel!!! Fantastic! You are too cute and thoughtful--I love that you are always giving something away--and that you are always bringing out some new ideas!
