For Hope

This time of year, the craft blog scene is chock full of posts about Advent calendars. Amongst the scurry to finish the calendars, and the search for what to put in them, I ask you to consider also the tradition of the Advent wreath

I am not really the praying sort per se, but lighting a candle each week of Advent - for Hope, Peace, Love, and Joy, cause me to reflect on these mores for myself, and for the world as a whole.

I love the specialness in lighting advent candles, too. There's this feeling of inner peace and a celebration of the goodness and hope in the world that seems to be represented by each candle. No matter what happens, that can't be snuffed out.

I love Advent candles - you can imagine this having happened across the centuries as opposed to chocolate filled advent calendars!!
