Mrs. (de)Stash!

I feel like I can barely call my fabric "stash" a stash. After seeing some of the towers of fabric some of you have out there, I feel quite contained in an 18-gallon crate. Plus a 14-gallon crate for kid's fabric. And a 5-gallon crate of thrifted fabric...

But that's not the point!! The point is, it may be small, but I have just decided I have had enough of -er- most of it. Fabric I bought for projects never started. Fabric bought on a whim. Fabric I over-estimated for a project.

So I packed up stuffed this flat rate box with all the fabric I'd like to purge, and I would like to send it to you for FREE! No strings attached (except for those on the fabric, naturally, ba dah bum). Perhaps I have grown tired of it, but at some point I picked this stuff out. So, if you dig my style, I'm sure you will find something you like. No peeking! Contents are a surprise :) All of it is printed, including quite a few novelty prints. A few pieces are from a high end quilt store, and a few others are still on the shelves at Joann's. There is a lotta yardage here - not just measly scraps. Mi stash es tu stash!

Leave a comment and I'll draw a name tomorrow evening. If you indicate that you will use the fabric for making items for donation, you will be entered twice!

What a great idea! I would love to dig through that box and see all of the beauties. If I happen to be the lucky winner, I'll add some of my own stash to it and donate it to my son's school. They're a Montessori school and quite the crafty bunch...

How nice of you--not that my stash needs to be added to, but it's always nice to see what's in someone else's bin! So please count me in! Thanks.

Oh, a grab bag of fabric...how can I resist?

Please include me! A mystery box of fabric sounds intriguing.

I'd love to say I'd make something for donation, but since I can't actually see the fabric, it might turn out to be too pretty to give away!

Does a donation to my sweet baby count? Any pink, green or light blue would be used in her bedding that I'm making! Maybe some for embellishing outfits. And maybe something for Cale as well.

Ooh, yes I'd love to add to my measly stash. I've got barely anything! That would be really cool!

What a generous offer. I'm working on making simple little quilts for Cuddles For Pets--which are comfort mats for animals in shelters. Not only do the mats provide warmth and something special for these poor little creatures but apparently it increases their potential for being adopted, according to shelter statistics.

Wow, how generous of you! What a fun idea. I would love to win the Mystery Box. I am planning on making Crayon Roll-Ups and tote bags for my nieces and nephews for Christmas, and all sorts of fun novelty fabrics would be perfect. *fingers crossed!* :)

What a delicious treat! How sweet of you. If I win I'll use some of the fabric to make a gifty item (small quilt?) to donate to a silent auction at my church, to raise funds for Mission Jamaica, which is a fantastic faith-based organization that helps build and maintain housing and classrooms for special needs kids & street kids; as well as other worthwhile projects in Montego Bay and Kingston, Jamaica.

Ooooh! What fun!

I should probably be de-stashing, too, but how can you resist an offer for more fabric? :)

Heidi said...

Not that I need it... But there may be some great prints in there! This is a great idea for de-stashing, and one I might have to adopt if I win and add to my own ever-growing stash.
