Any advice?

Collectively between all of us in the blogosphere, we know it all, right? So, I know somebody out there has the answer to this question. Does anyone know of a shoe rack that works?

* and **

It has to be similar in dimensions to this one, based on the shape of our closet. But, I would prefer one that holds the shoes in place (versus the remaining shoes falling down between the bars every time you pull one out). BT and I have about 30 pairs of shoes between us.

Thanks for any advice! Links appreciated!

* Would you believe I have one more pair of red shoes heading off to the thrift store, and a pair that I need to return? I heart red shoes.

** Those interested may be able to determine the status of our floor (finished!), paint color (white!), accent color (blue-gray!), and get a peek at our new dresser. The room reveal is very near!

I do not have this particular one, but one extemely similar and I love it. I have had it for over 25+ years and it works great. Light weight and compact, with the same "hang by the toe" design. You can see all of your shoes, they don't fall through the system and are easy to grab when you need them.

Hope this helps.

I don't have this kind of shoe rack but my thought is that maybe you could put a piece of fabric with velcro on each side and wrap it around the bars. Your shoes wouldn't fall through and the fabric could be easily removed for washing later.

I use a set of shelve-like things from Target. I can't get a link but go to Target.com and search in Storage + organization for the Organize it Low 2 shelf storage system. It comes in 2 different widths in the store and you have to put it together at home (takes like 10 minutes) and they are also stackable. I've had mine for a while now and really like it, and I looked for shoe storage for a long time before I bought it.

I think you might need a few Babords. I have two stacked on top of each other for shoe storage.

i couldn;t help ya. the mister made one for our closet that while a little bit on the ugly side, does indeed hold shoes in place but it is huge and covers one wall...by the ay, you've been tagged!

My shoes are a mess!!! I try to keep them in a row at the bottom of the closet, but that never lasts long!! Good Luck with your shoe organizing!!!

God, long time no blog!!! Sorry we missed you in CA. I have a tremendous shoe problem myself, with having way too many and not having a great place to keep them other than their boxes, which by the way have taken over the closet. So when you find a good one let me know!

I use the wooden ones (maybe they're composite/laminate, not real wood). They're stackable and easy to clean in between seasons. I think I got them at Bed, Bath and Beyond with a 20 percent off coupon.

Anon - You're totally right!! I wondered if anybody would notice that. Visually it looked better to put them in for this mock photo backwards...
